This article considers the theoretical and experimental investigations results of measurement errors of depth coordinate which occur during 3D scanning by the method based on diffuse reflection of light. These errors may result from the noise of the original image quantization as well as the fluctuation noise. It is shown that the maximum values of these errors appear in the regions of the object shell where the angles of light incidence are small. Recommendations for reduction of these errors are suggested.
